YOUR BUSHFIRE SURVIVAL

Are you ready to act if a bushfire threatened your community?

Victoria is one of the most fire-prone areas in the world. And bushfires will occur every summer.

For people living in areas where the risk of bushfire is high, understanding your level of risk is the first step, while planning and preparing for bushfire will always provide you with the best chance of survival.

The Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission said Victorians needed to have a range of survival options available to them. The 'Your Bushfire Survival' website is one of the initiatives that we are taking to explain these options to the community.

The Your Bushfire Survival website is an interactive multimedia version of the Your Bushfire Survival poster, available here.

This website explains the connection between your location and risk; the triggers to act; and the safety and survival options available – so that you can make informed decisions to plan for and survive bushfire.

This website will be updated throughout the 2011-12 summer fire season, so stay tuned for new information.

Yours Sincerely,

Craig Lapsley
